Jesus is our power and gives us strength to keep going in faith towards heaven.

Jesus is serious about the Law. We are sinful and guilty. Jesus is serious also about the Gospel. He came to give forgiveness, peace, and eternal life.
"Gaining Christ"
Anything that gets int he way of Christ is a "loss" to us, because it harms faith. Gaining Christ means knowing him and knowing that his resurrection is our source of confidence.
