We celebrate Jesus’ ascension, when he began the penultimate phase of his plan for the world: having saved the world, Jesus now grows his Church by the means of grace until it is time for him to come again.

Jesus calls us his friends! His saving work and grace have changed us. He chose us, and appointed us to bear fruit, by loving one anotherd.

Our connection to Jesus (the vine) makes us able to produce pure and holy fruit as the branches. Not only are we connected to Jesus for eternal life, but also for an earthly life full of glorifying God.
